Overview of Equipment and Products used by Highland Restoration

At Highland Restoration we use the latest and most current equipment and cleaning products available in the restoration business.

Our equipment

Our equipment is state of the art and designed specifically for the restoration industry. The equipment is used primarily for on-site Emergency Services – which may include,

  • water extraction (truck-mounted extraction unit, various pumps),

  • drying/dehumidification (dehumidifiers, air movers),

  • mold remediation (HEPA vacuums, containment chambers with negative air scrubbers), and,
  • odour control (restorators, air scrubbers, ozone machine, thermal fogger).

For projects that involve water damage, we routinely leave drying equipment on-site to attain optimum drying conditions.

Our cleaning products

Our cleaning products belong to an exclusive line of green cleaning and restoration products that offer the most environmentally sound cleaning solutions for the restoration industry. The products we use

  • Work quickly and effectively,

  • Are safe for our Technicians to use, and,

  • Have minimal impact on the environment.

We have included in this package an overview of the green cleaning chemicals we regularly use in emergency and restoration assignments. In situations where drying is required, we install dehumidifiers and air movers to increase the rate of drying. Your Project Manager will advise you of the drying time required to thoroughly dry the affected area(s).

Dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers reduce the humidity. We recommend continuous operation up to a maximum of three (3) days.

  • Call us first before turning off or moving dehumidifier equipment.

  • Please dump water recovery buckets at least once every 24 hours (if required).

Air Movers

Air Movers increase the rate of evaporation. We recommend continuous operation up to a maximum of three (3) days.

You can Help with the Drying

There are a number of things you can do to maintain a drying environment.

  • Leave the windows closed unless advised otherwise by your Project Manager or Restoration Technicians.

  • Minimize the number of times you enter the affected area(s).

  • An initial room temperature setting between 70° - 90°F in the affected area(s) is the recommended condition for maximum drying and to prevent growth of bacteria and fungus.

Health & Safety

The following tips will promote safety in the affected area(s).

  • Do not allow children to play in or around equipment. Restrict your pet’s movements through the affected area(s).

  • If equipment must be moved – please call us first so we can be made aware of changes in the drying environment.

  • Prior to moving equipment – Please turn off and unplug the unit. The equipment is unsafe to move while operating.

  • Caution – the floor may be slippery and even wet carpet can be a hazard.

We can appreciate the need to use safe and environmentally friendly products in your home or business to protect the people and pets around you. Our goal is to ensure you are protected and your property has been returned to a clean and safe environment.

Green Cleaning

Green products are formulated with less volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) than standard products. The products used by Highland Restoration meet or exceed the Environmental Standards for Green Products: no Nonyl Phenols, non-toxic, no phosphates, biodegradable, non-corrosive, no petroleum distillates, and low V.O.C. levels.
